SSN processing time

Hello All
I need your feedback
My POE was befor 12 days on JFK, after 4 days i went to the SS office to get the SSN coz i want to open bank account, they told me that there is no No. on the system, and they asked me to fill the application but they said if the immigration should proceeded the SSN within 3 weeks, if they not, so the SS will work on the filled forms.
Now 12 days and i cant do anything without the SSN.
So guys what you recomend ?

Any help please ?
 
Some people report that even though they tick the box on the 230 form to get an SSN, it doesn't come. So, the best thing is to complete the forms at the SS office and let them process it as a new application.
