The Department of State, Office of Visa Services, advises the public of a notable increase and reporting of fraudulent emails and letters sent to Diversity Immigrant Visa (DV) program (Visa Lottery) applicants. The scammers behind these fraudulent emails and letters pose as the U.S. government, and attempt to extract payment or favor from DV applicants. We strongly encourage you to review the procedures for the DV program provided below, so that you know what to expect, when to expect it, and from whom. Remember that this website is the source of official information about the DV program.

It will undoubtedly put back the interview quite some time, probably 1 month, maybe 2. However, since it is early in the year, that won't cause you issues...

thanks britsimon ,do you have any idea what we can do right now

Well you can either go back to the Carribean to attend the interview or change the appointment by contacting KCC. If you want to change it I would call them if I were you, and point out (politely) that they made a mistake so you would appreciate an expedited appointment in Asia.

is there any one can explain to me how the proccess moving , regarding the coming numbers of cases each month , and how many cases arreanged per rach embassy per month ?

The visa bulletin is here.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_1360.html

For each region there is a cutoff number published each month. Interviews will only be scheduled for case numbers that are below that number, so for Aia, the January number is 3000, so if your number is below 3000 (and your forms have been returned and processed) you can expect to have an interview in January.

The region numbers will increase each month, so once your number is below that published number your case is "current" and you will have your appointment set up.

I can see you asking several similar questions. Just relax and hang on for the February cutoff (which will be in the January bulletin, published in about 3 weeks time) - hopefully your number will be current then.

Phone KCC. Don't email them, just take the cost of an international call and phone them, like britsimon suggested a few days ago. The longer you wait the longer the delay will be. From what I understand once you have received your 2NL the forms will have already been sent on to the interviewing embassy, so they will have to be sent to the new one you want. From what a couple of posters have previously said the delay is likely to be 1-2 months.

Perhaps a more important question for you is how you plan to be furthering your studies in Asia and immigrating to the US at the same time... If it's only say a year for a masters degree you can probably do it but if it's longer you may have an issue. You need to activate your visa within 6 months of receiving it and longer than a year's absence after that will have you lose your green cards.

thanks susieQQQ ,we have called them may five times and all the time they tell us there nothing that can be done right now from their side. They advise us to call the two embassy and see if they agree to transfer our case to asia,we have tried all means to contact the embasy in asia where they told us to contact tje embasy in the carribean to call them and ask for the yransger of case,we did send a letter with some attachment showing that we are in asia the dsp form and letter that we send to kcc requesting the case transfer.so we are looking for an option if the transfer doesnt work if we can reschedule the interview with the embasyy in the carribean and have some? time to organize ourself. so is it possibe to reschedule interview with the embassy

Did you actually call the embassy in the Caribbean and speak to someone? Embassies seem to have different procedures for rescheduling so I don't think anyone can give you a general answer. Bear in mind also that you have to have the medicals done in the same country you are interviewing in.

I think it's pretty shoddy of KCC to leave you to do all the organising when it was their mistake.

thanks sir for ur coperation ,

the problem is there is no number to call for inquiring about immigrant visa,so we decided in the mean time to send the letter while trying to get the means to contact the two embassies but we did not succeed in getting any of the two embasies imigration department as the records says they no longer offer phone call inquiries for immigrant visa, so we are pretty tense as the interviews is 5weeks from now and we cant seem to be able to make it on that date as we were expecting and preparing for it to be here in asia

Well if you don't show up at the interview, the embassy will send your papers back to KCC at the end of that month and then you could get an interview setup somewhere else. However, I think you should try KCC again. As we have said, you can point out that their error is costing you time. If they have the new forms with your new embassy request they should be able to set that appointment up before getting the other papers returned. You might need to press them a little, but it should be possible.

Need advices

I am african winner and I'll be interviewed in january. I need someone to advice me in two things.
1. I did my police clearance in august and my interview will be taking place in January. The police clearance is valid for 6months. Do I need to do another one koz it will expire in february.

2. I have my Bachelor degree and started my Master last year. But the problem I lost my senior certificate (minimum required for dV qualification). Koz I got it 20years ago and I travelled and move a lot. Do I need that certificat for my interview while I have my Bachelor degree and my admission letter for Master at the University?

Please help.

1. No that should be ok as it will still be valid.

2. That depends on the CO, but strictly speaking they should see your senior certificate. There have been interview reports where people have shown BA information and that has been ok, for others they have insisted on seeing the high school information. I personally wouldn't risk it, I would obtain a new senior certificate.
