DV Lottery Winner 2014 Urgent Question!

Hi there,

I won DV Lottery 2014 and I have recently checked my result. So I am 6 months away from starting day (1 May 2013). :(

I have some questions and your answers will help me a lot. I appreciate your time and consideration in advance.

1. Turkey, Ankara is an accepted consular for immigration process?

2. If I don't have any address to provide in the forms (intend to live and mailed the green card) at the moment, is it affected the process or consular decision for approval/denied my case?

3. Can I change the venue and/or date of the appointment or not?

4. What sort of documents shall I have to take for the appointment with consular office?

Thanks,
PePa

Congratulations on your win.

Vladek has already given good answers to you - but I will add a couple of things.

The timing of your interview is governed by your case number. If you have a high case number (and thus a late interview) it is not advisable to reschedule your interview. The delay you could introduce by rescheduling could in some cases cause you to lose your chance of the visa.

There is an enormous amount of information here and also some useful information on the DVselectee site (particularly the country specific information). Read the first thread as Vladek advises but also read the DVselectee site and make sure you understand the process and matters about your case. Feel free to ask questions here also...

If you want to change the venue of your interview, DO NOT wait for your interview date but tell KCC immediately. Your forms will already have been sent to Ankara when you get your 2NL and changing venue then will result in a much longer delay. If you just want to reschedule the date then as previous posts you will have to wait for the 2NL. Note that some embassies only allow the date to be rescheduled in emergency cases.

1. Yes, Ankara embassy processes DV cases. My interview will be in Ankara.
3. I was able to reschedule the interview date given by KCC by explaining my situation to embassy.
