Interview without father of children

Dear all,
I would like to know if it's possible for someone to do an interview as a single parent; even if they have children. Will they ask for the other parent even if he/she was not included in the application? A friend of mine is going through such a scenario and is worried that she might be denied a visa if the father of her children is not able to be present for the interview. Has anyone gone through something like this?
Thanks.

if the person is not married or divorced whit the father then hi dont need to go to the interview .

Thanks Ceskhermina for the reply. So if she's not married, would they need some kind of documentation to show that the father has accepted her to go with the children? I think it's called a 'Letter of custody' or something..

Thanks once again.
