Hi
i'm dv winner from nepal. My case no.is 2014AS98**. Can anyone tell me during interview does CO ask for i-134 or bank statement here in nepalese embassy?

Hey Sunil,

Congratulations on your selection.

There is some debate on the matter of bank statements and I-134 - my response is to take both a bank statement (6 months) and an I-134 to the interview.

In my case I was not asked for the I-134 but I was asked for the bank statement.

All the best on your process, make sure your documents are prepared early (at least 8 weeks before the interview date).

Hey Momo
thanks for your valuable info. In my country i.e. Nepal I heard that they ask for only I-134 but I'm not sure. I would be really pleased if someone from Nepal who got through interview could provide me with their precious info.

Thank you oskarson
I hope it is a rumour and they ask for i-134 only because everyone doesn't have enough money. In my case I have my uncle's son as a sponsor in US.

you are welcome

you need only an address in USA thats all!

Are you saying that Nepal does not try to establish the applicants ability to support themselves? I would be surprised if that were true. I think they will want to establish that the applicant will not become a public charge, as this is one of the reasons people get rejected (at least in other embassies).

What they may mean is that the Nepalese embassy does not provide guidelines as to what to show to prove finances. Very few embassies seem to do so, unless from the few countries where an affidavit of support is required. This essentially means it is up to the discretion of the CO. I can't imagine someone (for example) who's just graduated high school, has no savings and doesn't know anyone in the US to act as sponsor will be able to successfully get a visa. So different people may be asked different things depending on how the rest of the interview has gone, what the CO thinks etc.

I'm sure you're correct on all counts...

here, i donot think it is meaningful to tell a lie.i just talking about neplese cases and reality is that co just ask simple questions about sponser and next, bank statement in neplese context is totally wrong.no need to show any finacial support here in nepal.
