Filling a Gc for my wife- questions about I765

Hello all

This is my first post on this forum. I am a US citizen and my wife a is a Canadian citizen living in the US on a TN visa. I have the following questions relating to I-765

1-She has an I-94 and is authorized to work, but I guess this is different from having an EAD card? Should I check the box of new application on the 765 or is it a renewal?

2- Her I94 number has 11 digits and all the forms accept 11 digits, but the latest I765 form only accepts 9 digits. Should I write this number manually? i.e. enter 11 digits?

3-I don't need to pay a fee if I am submitting a I485 right?

4- Question 11 on the form asks " have you ever applied for employment authorization from USCIS" she has an I94, so should I answer yes or no?

1. Definitely new application. Even if she had an EAD card before, it would be new application, because it's a different category.

2. Yes. Whoever made the PDF messed up. That field is A# or I-94 number. A# is 9 digits. Whoever made the PDF forgot that the I-94 number is longer.

3. Right

4. If she hasn't had an EAD before, then no.
