Questions about Green Card process

Hello, I had a couple questions about the process of getting a green card for my girlfriend. We have been dating for the past 3 years and plan to get married this summer. We are of the same age and she is from Kenya. She has been living in the US for the past 5 years attending school and has been working for the past couple years with paperwork she received from the school as well.

My girlfriends work visa expires this coming September and she wont be finished with the nursing program she is in until December of this year. After we get married this summer, is there any way for her to keep working or would we have to wait until the whole green card application process is complete for her to start working again?

Also, we have lived together for 1 year of the whole time we have been together. However, 6 months ago she moved to a town 120 miles away to attend nursing school. At this time we do not share a banking account, do not physically live together, or have an appartment in both our names. How is this going to affect the process of us applying for the green card? Getting a shared bank account now would be easy, and we would be living together again once she is done with nursing school this December. I'm just not sure how bad that looks for us once we apply for the green card.

Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

She should apply for work authorization I-765 as part of the green card process. She will receive it about 8 weeks after the application which will be before her current work visa expires

Well it definitely not help you though it does not mean your application will be rejected for lack of those. However the more evidence you get the better. Start accumulating as much evidence as you reasonably can. There is a list floating around on the forum which lists examples of evidence Getting a shared bank account now would be easy, and we would be living together again once she is done with nursing school this December.
