Hello guys, please help me on this. I need help on when can I apply for US citizenship.
I'm 24yo. Presently leaving in Texas.
-I've been a green card holder since 1998. I was 9yo back then. But I had to go back and forth to Philippines for my studies until I finished my college. To make it short, I will just state my history for the last 5 years.
March 15 2008 - Came to USA for 2 months and went back to Philippines on May 28 2008 for school.
October 14 2008 - Went back again to USA for 2.5 weeks and went back to Phil on November 4 2008.
January 25 2009 - Came to USA for 2 months and went back to Phil on March 17 2009 for school. I got a re-entry permit this time because I'm a graduating student so potentially just in case I might be out of the country for more than a year.
March 15 2010 - Came back to USA. That's about 363 days since I left the country so I don't think that's considered for 1 year right? I only stayed for 2 weeks in USA because I need to come back for graduation.
March 27 2010 - Came back to Philippines for my graduation.
September 26 2010 - Came back to USA for 4.5 months for a board exam and went back to Phil on February 11 2011 for vacation.
June 22 2011 - Came back to USA and got a job.
September 23 2012 - Went to Phil for a vacation for 2 weeks. Came back to USA October 07 2012.
April 7 2013 - Went to Phil for a vacation for 2 weeks again and came back to USA April 24 2013.
-To summarize, I believe I have a total of 30 months physically present in USA in 5 years.
Presently I'm here in USA. I know there's a provision that I need to show proof that I did not break my continuous residence for 5 years if I left the country for more than 6 months but less than a year. They said that I need to show IRS tax documents, rent/mortgage payments or bank accounts. How can I do that if I don't have a job at that time because I'm still a student? But most of my immediate family are here in USA and are already US citizens. PLEASE HELP me on this. I've had my GC since 1998. When can I apply really for citizenship considering my trips because I still need to finish my studies abroad. Am I eligible for 4 years 1 day rule that they're talking about? I would really appreciate all your help and inputs. Thank You!
