Hi,

I am a US citizen planning on filing a green card petition for my mother who is in India, my mother holds a visitor visa currently, please let me know the GC application process in detail also would like to know how long it would take for my mother to get a green card? wish to get her to the US permanently as soon as possible.

Thanks,
Ria

Since your mom is in India, you have to go thru Consular Pocessing....CP.....Start by filing I 130 for her and once that is approved, you will keep getting notices to file DS 3032,I 864 and DS 230 successively. Your mom wil have to get police clearance certificate from Delhi passport office at a later stage and also get her medical done from designated medical center. All these details are given in USCIS.GOV under Green Card thru family. Please read and follow those instructions. If you have any specific questions later on,we are here to help you.

Good luck!

Hi smile1, I saw your signature and am interested in knowing whether yours was Consular processing or Concurrent filing while your parents were here.

Thanks

My mother does not have a birth certificate, but her name is stated in my birth cert, what do I do for my mother's BC?

Thanks,
Ria

She will have to apply for a Non Availability of Birth Certificate form......called form 10..... At her local municipality or Registrar of Births & Deaths office. Also, you will need an affidavit signed by two of her close relatives who can vouch for her name, place ,and date of birth etc. it also helps if she has any old school, college records, ration card....etc.
