Applying for (b1) Visa after previews Denying

hi , i am trying to apply for a (b1) visa to the us i previously had a student visa but was cancelled because I overstayed for about 6 months but i left the country and at the airport I told them that I was leaving, the thing is some immigration officer came knocking on my door so i got scared and left the country asap. I also had a tourist visa stamped on my passport i tried to come back as so I can take my stuff that I left back home, but was denied entrance and had my visa stamped with application withdrawal and took the next flight home. Now what are my options for me to come back 7 years after? am i going to get denied my visa as business (b1) conference since i have been invited to a conference at the UN women. what should I do when I go to the interview is there going to be consequences of my past? thank you i m really looking forward to know what is my status as right now thank you :)

Unfortunately the chances of you getting a visitors visa are slim to none without some heavy official backing or high profile assignment here.

Although the duration of your ban has passed, of course the consular is going to look at you much more suspiciously than the average applicant. Such is life.

Probably the only kind of visa you stand a good chance of having is an H1B visa which allows immigration intent. Every other type of non-immigrant visa that does not allow prior intent will have a Mail Mary chance of success.

Good luck nevertheless.
