how to make correction on filed form

I used AP when back from previous travels. Now I found a mistake on filed 485 form. How do I make a change or correction without withdraw it ? Shall I do it before VO work on 485, or when VO work on it, or when is the best timing ?
 
My understand was too fast or not perfect at the time of submission so one backgound question needs a change if allowed. I am very encouraged as there might be some methods available. Very appreciate your generosities.
 
Very much appreciated again if I could get your sincere help. Basically I made errors on form 485 in that section of background questions. Can I amend the form 485 itself before VO start working on it, and how to amend it if I can ?
 
You mean those "Have you ever" Yes/No questions?

Send a letter to the service center where your I-485 is to describe the correction. Be very specific about which page and which question number has the error. Include a copy of your I-485 receipt, and any supporting evidence if necessary (for example if you were arrested you'll need to include the court documents that show the result of the case).

Jackolantern,
I think, that is the only way to make this correction. Jpf44 can not call customer or send any kind of email to make this correction.
