Employment Authorization + Economic Necessity

Hello everybody, this is my first post and I love the forum, it has been very helpful during this process. My question today is about getting an employment authorization, my complete application was received on January 5th and I still haven't received any notice from the Asylum Office (besides an Status Request Form telling me that my case is pending preparation of a written decision).

I have been unemployed since I came to the US almost a year ago now and the economy is very bad for me, I was already approved Food Stamps and waiting for Medicaid; I have a very good job offer now, USCIS said that I can't apply before 150 days after my application. Suggestions???

Call the USCIS. 800 37 5283 and ask have they or not received your application. If you payed for a tracking # - good for you then.

Thank you for your response...u mean the application for asylum? I'm sorry I didn't specified but I had biometrics done and the interview on January 30th, then I was supposed to go in person for the decision but they called me and asked me not to go and they will send the decision by mail; one month later I sent a request for information by mail and the .response was "you were interviewed by an asylum officer and your case and a written decision is being prepared and will be mailed to you as soon as circumstances permite it"

I cannot check the status online or by phone because my application was filed being out of status, so is not a USCIS case, my receipt number starts with ZMI.

Regarding the EAD, I know if I apply before 150 days of the application being filed, is gonna be denied. Anybody knows a way to go around this?

In this case I guess the only option is to wait when the 150 days period is over...huh. It sucks but, it's a law.
