childhood vaccine schedule

Our 6 year old son has never been vaccinated . We do not want to vaccinate but after a lot of consideration of entire situation, we are going ahead for immigration purposes. The fact that his immune system is now mature, we do feel better about this. However the schedule is large (9 required for his age group) but as he has never been vaccinated, there is the 'catch up schedule" which means up to 11.

We plan to start his shots now so to space them out and do them in such an order as to avoid second doses by the time of the civil surgeon's appointment--as per the 2011 CDC catch up schedule.

He is also taking vitamin c and echinecea every day etc in prep. We also avoid flu shots after 31st march, and this is important to us if we can avoid it!

Has anyone here had an experience with their child and vaccines through through this process? What did they require and if they got a lot at once, how did they handle the after effects, etc?? Were they sick, etc?

For us, this is the most stressful part of this process, so thank you to anyone who replies!

I am not sure where you are located, but the civil surgeon we used did blood work to check for immunity. Then he gave a booster for anything that showed low immunity. He then did the paperwork and attached blood work with the digits of immune levels to all the slots needed for the GC program...just my 2 pennies.

Thanks. Yeah, we already did the blood tests and for our 6 yr old, he doesn't have sufficient immunity for any of the vaccinated-for diseases on CDC's schedule.
