Police record from USA necessary?

Hello everyone,

I have been trying to find information on this issue without much luck, so I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out. I am going for my CP interview in a month and I am wondering if I have to get a police/FBI clearance certificate from the USA (I have been here as a student for almost 9 years now) in addition to that from my home country. Anybody has had a similar experience of doing CP after living in the US for a while? Was the post-interview processing time longer/shorter for you than that for others? I have a very clean record but I am worried that they will do a background check that will take forever and whether i can decrease my post-interview wait time by bringing my record with me to the interview.

No, you don't need it no matter the number of years you have been in the US.

No you don't need to provide US police clearance. When you submit your forms to KCC, they do a background check including FBI. If you indicated any aliases, they run checks on all names. That's why greencard applicants are not required to submit US police records, regardless of what state they may have lived in previously. Hope this helps.
