Hi,everyone. My parents just got B2 visa to visit me in US next month. I plan to file IR5 for them as soon as i'm done with oath ceremony. My question is : can i file the IR5 for them while they are here? They plan to go back to home country in 4-5 months for finish the IR5 interview process. OR i should file the IR5 after they back to home country?

Anyone experience this? Thanks a million ~

File it while they are in the US, so the processing can go on while they are still in the US and the consulate will be closer to being ready for them when they return to the home country.

On the visa application I hope they mentioned that they have a permanent resident child.

Thanks a lot for suggestion! Yes, they showed my green card copy while they had B2 interview. I wanted to make sure that file IR5 while they are here would not affect the IR5 process, thanks again

It is perfectly fine to file the I-130 while they are in the US and then have them stay for the allotted 6 months in the US in B2 status before going back home for their consular interview.
