How long does an oath letter take?

Ok so after many months of BS I find out that I am approved for citizenship on 6/23/10. I called USCIS today and found out that I was placed in que for my oath on 7/12. I was informed that it is all computer generated. I explained to the officer that we only have a couple of oaths a year in my area. The next one is September 17th and November 19th. She figured that it would be September. So my question is how long did it take from the time you were approved to receive your oath letter?
Thanks for your input.

z28eater, did you get all this information by calling (800) 375 - 5283?
I didn't think they knew anything more than what's displayed on the web site.
You seem to have extracted a lot more information. what's the secret :)

It's been a month since the interview (got recommended for approval letter), but no oath letter yet.

The only thing I was able to get out of the officer is when I was approved and when I was put in to que. For the up coming oath dates I looked them up through the federal court in my area. I had my interview 6 months ago so I was able to ask for an officer directly. My next oath date is in September so I will call them up some time in August to see where I am at. I was just wondering from others on this board how long it took. I will be so glad to be done with USCIS!!!

Oath letters are generated by the NBC in Missouri, off coarse according to the schedule and availability of your local DO. Let's say your N-400 was approved on the 1st of the month, you should get the oath letter by the 14th at the most. The oath letter will contain the Oath date when the next spot is open for a new Citizen.
Remember the date the N-400 gets approved two weeks after that, not just a successful interview, they are two different things.

Hi namecheckvictim

You mean that all the OLs are generated by the NBC and mailed from there also. I though OLs are generated by and mailed from DO. According to 1800# my case was approved 3 weeks ago, still waiting for OL.

Thank you for any inputs

Well it depends from DO To DO, for the DO's that have a Oath once a month its mailed from Missouri, for instance some DO Like Newark, NJ give Oath same day as interview, my DO gives the oath letter by hand on the day of interview because they have Oaths here every friday and there would'nt simply be enough time to mail. All of this is subject to no strings attached naturalization, if there is a issue then all of that changes.

did you check uscis website about your status. Anyways, don´t be panic. You will receive your OL soon.

I finally got mine today. Scheduled for 8/6. Good Luck.
oh and it was mailed from my DO.

Funny thing is my district office is Washington DC which does same day oaths, but because I live 4 hours south I have to wait till September or November as that is when the next oath is scheduled in my area.
