FINS number and DV Lottery program

Hi,

I have a 10 years B1/B2 Visa that I use to travel to US 3 times per year for business, taking each stay 20-30 days. I have been travelling this way for 3 years so far, and since I am originally from an Arab country, I had put a FINS number in my VISA and each time I go through immigration I have to go also through the "second" inspection. Also when I am leaving the country, I have to go to the immigration office first and get an exit stamp in my passport.

I am telling this because I also apply for the DV program. This year seems to be no lucky again for me, and I started to think that perhaps the selection takes into account things like this, and all the people like me that have to go through this special inspection will be discarded from the draw process.

I still ignore why I have a FINS number and have to go through this second inspection each time I go to US, nobody gave me any explanation, but because my origin, that I am male, between 18 and 40 years, and an Engineer.

Does anybody think that this can be something that will never let me win the lottery? In other words, Do you guys think that having this FINS thing in my Passport will discard me from whatever is the process the KCC follows for the lottery?

Regards,

Unfortunatly winning the lottery is just by sheer luck. Average odds of winning are 1%, so who knows you may win next year, or the year after. You don't know... and besides for the dv lottery 2011 you can always check 1st of July on the website to see if you actually have won. There are always a few people who don't receieve their first NL until July since there could of been mail problems during the sending of the 1st NL's. Don't give up!

Yes, I am already aware of that, luck, etc.. I am not talking about that,

What I am asking, is that the fact to have a "special tag" for the migration authorities at US will make a point in order to a disqualification at draw time.

Of course I know it is a matter of luck, but for example, as the same way you can be disqualified from the random process if your pictures are not ok, perhaps you are too if you have a FINS number.

That is what I am wondering now.

Regards.

Pizzaro I understand what you are asking but the thing is we would never know. They have all the info to do as they wish, yes luck has a part to play but after the choose the initial winners no one knows what further "selection" criteria are used (it's real easy to run background etc on 100000 persons). I am still trying to decide whether they select by country or region..lol

it has nothing to do with your visa! you are in wrong track of thinking!
