Assuming all goes well, what is the typical timeframe between the interview date and the date of oath? I presume, you are a legal citizen from right after the oath. Is that correct?

What time is your interview? Fairfax office gives same day oaths if your appointment is the in the morning..or if its in the afternoon, you need to be approved by 2:30pm to take the 3:15 oath, as I found out at an Infopass.

You are a Citizen of the United States when you take the Oath and the proof is your Naturalization certificate.

Yes oath is the moment you cross over.
You'll get the Naturalization Certificate at oath.

To be more exact, the moment you say "So help me God"
or the precedeing clause if you are an atheist and request
to skip the God clause. So given all other being equal, atheists
become citizens a second faster.
