Passed Interview at Newark NJ

Hi all jus wana share..i was frequent visitor to this site for many years but never did get around to register until now..i sent out n400 application june 5 2009.interview was on 8th october 2009..after readin up on this forum n many other forums i began to stress a little..reason bein i did not know dat d word"cited" refers to if u were given a traffic ticket by police officer..so 2 days b4 interview i ran to court house to get copy of receipts..i was at d point where i got a semi-diarrhea..no joke...[wel i can laugh about it now..lol]..anyway appointment was at 8.40am..arrived at approx 8.15 handed in my letter n before u know it i was called..a very nice n friendly male IO.Did d swear in ...n booom ..just as i sat down d IO started talkin about d constitution..n soon after e hit me wit d question.."so what is d constitution?"...i was shocked ..seriously wasnt xpectin any question so soon,plus IO re-worded d original question from d study booklet.im wonderin.r they allowed to do dat????...thank god after a seeminly long 10 seconds i replied "the supreme law of d land".After dat e proceeded to go through application.IO asked about arrest n i answered NO..however i told him i did not understand what d word cited had meant when i filled out application and dat i had minor traffic ticket in d past..IO said "not to worry u took care of it already"..e said it like e knew but i responded wit a yes anyway..IO said "tell me a little about your country"..Dat was a little surprisin too..was wonderin if dat is part of interview..would u believe dis..D IO GOOGLE the info i give him about my country den turn his screen to show me e found it...lol..anyway e finished off wit about 5-6 QUESTIONS

name 2 national holidays?
who is d president of america?
what movement tried to end racial discrimination?
where is the statue of liberty?
not sure if there was another question....cant remember..anyway i asnwered all correctly..
IO asked me to write "the president lives in the white house"
cant remember the sentence i was asked to read..
after dat did name change,signed a few papers then e congradulated me n give me letter of approval n oath letter..the waitin period for oath ceremony was about 2 hours but it was worth it..i was lil emotional at ceremony..but thanks b to god it is now over.. i was stressed and worried for nuttin..Once u know ur criminal background is clean have no fear..If u have minor traffic tickets plz dont worry...Best of luck to those going for interview..

Im reading your post and feel relived, but still worrying about traffic tickets and criminal charges (more than 2 episodes) including jail time and in my country of origin( I filled asylum case based on them). I answered NO because my adviser told me so. USCIS aware of those charges and charges were indicate in my i-485 petition as well(( And reading this forum I realized that it was a big mistake:mad: I'll try to start my interview with that(
Got no tickets for more than 3 years and no criminal records in US. Got less than 2 weeks till my interview, still nervous, if i could turn back time(:(

Congrats on a successful interview. F grade on your post. Not only is it all in lower case, it rambles. I assume you are in the SW industry and pride yourself to be too buys to write proper English. Sorry buddy.

I'd say the fellow in question came within a hairline of flunking the writing test :eek:.

Perpetual and nighteowl im dam wel good at my english.just was tryin to shorten post...Anyway thanks again to all for ur wishes.Applied for passport october 9.(normal)..Mite be takin a trip..smilin
