Hi All,
I've decided to file the I751 myself. Regarding the 2 affadavits provided by family/friends, anybody have any experience to share?
My questions are: Do the affadavits need to be notified? Who did you ask to do it? Do they need to be citizens? Do they need to be family members, particularly of the US citizen spouse?
My hubby is the US citizen/sponsor of me. He's american and I'm chinese. I have two female friends since college that have agreed to provide the statements. They are both from my country and are natualized US citizens. They have been close to me throughout college and during the time my hubby and I dated and throughout our marriage. One of them is like my BFF, very close. The other is not in our town any more, but whenever she comes in town she'd stay with us. So I think out of all my friends and family they know us the best. My hubby, however, do not have any friends or family we can ask because they are either out of town or are not very close to us.
The reason I ask is because I'm not sure if USCIS would consider my friends creditable for providing this type of statements. Would they most prefer my hubby's parents or maybe church paster's statements rather than plain old friends? Please share who's helped you out on the affadavits and what kinda statements they provided?
Thanks~
