I wanted to share the good news with you that yesterday I finally became a United States citizen. Previously I posted a message stating that USCIS held my application in abeyance because of my extensive travel to a country next door to my country of nationality. See here: http://forums.immigration.com/showthread.php?t=301341
I hired an attorney to respond to the USCIS. We submitted contemporaneous evidence to show I stayed only in the neighboring country and did not go elsewhere. We also submitted letters from supervisors attesting to the business need for all my trips.
It took the USCIS about a week after getting the evidence to give the OK for my naturalization.
My attorney told me that the USCIS is becoming really serious about asylum people who renewed the passports or travel to their countries of claimed persecution.
