Hi

I and my wife filed our I-485 in August 2007. My priority date is 06/15/2006 (EB2 India). On Sept 1st, my online case status changed to state that my application had been approved and card production ordered, inspite of the fact that my priority date had not been current since Sept 2008.

It has been 3 weeks, I have not received my green card by mail and my wife has not had any update to her case status. My concern is that when I get my green card, I will loose my H1 visa and she will loose her H4 visa. Since her I-485 is still pending, there is always a chance of denial.

What can I do? If I call customer service, I will be told that her application cannot be processed till the priority date becomes current. Should I take and infopass appointment to get some clarification?

Once your GC is approved, there is almost zero chance of hers being denied as long as you stay married, assuming that she has no criminal record or visa overstay issues in her past. So don't worry about that.

It is possible that email you got is in error. You haven't received the paper notice yet, nor the physical card. Somebody at USCIS may have noticed the mistake and halted the card production, and none of you will get your card. It really doesn't make sense for you or her GC to be approved now, given that you haven't been current since last year and aren't going to be current next month.
 
Your PD is not current hence approval is not possible. There must be some system glitch. Better call and check with your service center directly.
