N-400 form got retureded need help

Thanks for the clarification. I did go through the FAQ and other resources about N-400 process. Don't recall direction about separate application for husband and wife. It does make sense though. Thanks again.

How does one apply with multiple wives?

I am guessing they probably did not realize the money was for TWO applications and thought you sent extra...

They will want two checks as they have to apply the check to an application number and they can't apply two numbers to one check.

Each application is separate and should be paid separately....including A number on the back of check or money order.

Above is not true. One can pay for multiple application using single check. I know someone who paid in one check and both wife-husband are citizen now.

Two separate checks would be better because each receipt number for each person on the back of each check will be issued by USCIS. If you want to send one check, it would be confused which receipt number belongs to the applicant.

I agree with above. It is better to pay with separate check because if there is any issue with any application, USCIS will not reject both. Also, one can send a single envelope as long as forms and related document can be identified easliy.

Has anyone with mulltiple wives from country where polygamy is legal ever immigrate to USA and become citizens?

That would be interesting :)

Usually, individuals with multiple wife don't care about legal marriage. So, they should follow .... bring first, divorce, bring next, divorce, bring next ..and so on ... ;)
