Hi all,

I read somewhere in the forum that interview date depend on how busy each applicant's DO is. Does the file of the applicant make a difference as well? for example an applicant who's been F1 with multiple EADs then LPR as opposed to another who entered the US as LPR form day 1.

Interview Scheduling.

My gut feeling is that, In addition to Applicant's workload DO, it also depends upon how simple is the Application itself. I may be wrong but I believe Applications based on 5 years LPR with not complicated situations of applicant relatively gets earlier dates when compare to marriage based etc... it all depends upon how much DO has to do verification process based on yes or no answers in applications.

skyrow,

Looking at your timeline (interview letter in just 35 days wow!) I assume your case is 5 years based and straight forward......

I think its all dependent on the DO. Some DO has more staff as they have more applicants as well..For instance, in NJ/NY its taking about 3 months including oath now vs. in WA/IL its taking more than 4 months to get the interview. Some DO has same day Oath and others have scheduled ones,, like Seattle. For F1 students,, the files are pretty but I dont think that matters as the Citizenship process begins after you have obtained the Permanent Residency. It seems to me that the process of citizenship should be an automated one without humans involved because its very straight forward unless you have Felony/IRS/Marriage/ type issues!!!
