N600 question

Not a lot of people apply for N-600 so it is likely you won't get an answer, that processing time means it will take six months or less. N-600 is not a very transparent process, there is no tracking number or anything, unless they have changed this recently.
If you are doing it for a child you might or not be called for an interview (a mere formality, not like a N-400 interview). In my child's case they didn't invite us to an interview, they just issued the certificate.

I understand that you applied on Aug 23rd. When was it approved?

To make long story short. It got approved on April of the following year, but I didn't get it until a few months later after I called customer service (I think I got it around July timeframe). I don't know why it was sitting there at the local office gathering dust. Perhaps they were going to schedule an interview and decided to just give me the certificate by mail. Then the certificate had a typo and had to apply for a replacement which took a number of months more (. It almost took two years to get a good certificate. I hope you get a good certificate at the first attempt and it takes less than six months.

Thanks Huracan. So it is taking about 6 months anyway. I will plan accordingly.
Well, the 6 months posted are the target processing time, it might be better than that, but I would expect at least 3 to 4 months. Unfortunately there is no way of tracking N-600 applications that I know of, and reporting a processing time of 6 months for the USCIS means they expect to process in six months or less, but the less part is unknown.
Part 4 and Part 5 of the application (N600)
My daughter is 12 and I am applying for her N600.
Two questions:
On Part 2:
Should I need to check anything under "A" or just select "B"
On Part 4 and Part 5:
I am the father applying for her, so I should just fill part-4 right. Do I need to worry about Part 5.
