Unable to issue visa letter...

I had my DV interview this afternoon. It went well and very quick other than the fact I was lacking in evidence of support, my sponsor fell through at the last minute.

Anyway, they gave me a letter specifying what I need but I just have a question about it. It says:
1.
(a) EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT - Job offer, Personal funds or sponsor...
(b) FORM I-864 - and a copy of your completed Income tax return, as filled with the IRS for the most recent year.
2. ....

I know this means that I need one of the usual three's, job offer, personal funds, or sponsor but, what is part B about? Is it if I go the sponsor route I need them to fill out the i864 rather than the i134 or that I need a sponsor and one of the other two or something else? I know I have seen another thread similar to this one but I couldn't find it again.

Thanks :)

hmm that I'd weird as the tax returns would not be related to the home country so can't be for you.
Out of curiosity how much did you specify as personal funds?
Any assets even considered?

Yes, that's what confuses me about the whole thing. Assets/personal funds weren't considered. I can probably manage to get a job offer in time (i have until the end of this month according to the letter) but just part B of that has thrown me a bit.

Job offer by end if month. That would be hard
Weird why personal funds not considered
I am in same situation but think will have enough funds over poverty line.
Is yours below this?
Getting me worried now.

The I-384 is too intrusive for me to ask someone and not gonna bother with looking for job cos I will need to get the greencard before I decide I am actually gonna move and certainly won't be soon enough for a job offer to wait

The personal funds would have been considered, I just fall way under them for various reasons involving property, long irrelevant story... but I think you'll be fine and don't need to worry about it in your case if you can meet the poverty guidelines.

I have a few friends over there that are trying to sort out work for me so the job offer should come through all going well. I just hope it's enough after reading that letter.

Good luck in your interview btw!

I did CP in my home country. I won the DV lottery. Currently no visa type or status.

Then you need form I-134 filled by sponsor in usa, and i don't see the relevance for tax returns, not unless you used to work in the usa before you went back to your home country.

But is that I-134 along with a job offer? Are they saying I need both. In part A it asks for one of the three methods of support, job offer, sponsor or personal funds, then part B mentions the 1-864. Could this just be an error on the letter or the letter is for family based greencards? I am assuming / hoping, that just one of the three will be sufficient.

Thanks for all the replies so far.

It could be a standard letter, in which you provide either A or B depending what applies to your case. I believe for your case an I-134 by your sponsor, who will provide the necessary documents to attest to his/her their income/worth will suffice.

Best of luck

imho, the reason why they mention the i-864 is because it's the only affidavit of support form where the immigrant may actually declare his/her own assets as evidence of support. The i-134 is made for a sponsor (USC or GCH) filing the form for you, while the i864 allows EITHER a sponsor or YOURSELF as the evidence of support through declaration of your assets or cash in bank etc...

since your sponsor fell through, they must assume you gonna be your own sponsor through evidence of personal funds, and therefore i864 is the form to fill up in that circumstance.

just my 2c, i might be wrong/
