Hi Guys,

it has been long time since i been here. this fourm is very helpful. I am going to share with you some experience I had.

Last year I went to my home country because my father was very sick. I am poltical asylum case i got my a green card 2 years a go. so I applaied for travel documents but it tooks for ever couldn't wait because my father was really sick and I haven't see him for 12 years and I renew my orginal( kenyan) passport and went my country. I stayed there 2 month and half and came back with a lot of documentation. when i entered they didn't ask me anything.
6 month later my Father died. I didn't go for his funeral because I was scared it is going to be a problem when I aplied for citizenship. my question is how do they know if they asking me if I renew my passport and If I say no. they send my my travel document but I never used it.

1.can i tell them i used my travel document? if they ask me where is my Travel documetn is can I say I lost it?

The way they learn it is very simple. On the application for citizenship, they have a question that deals with travel outside of the US. Also when you were returnig from kenya they scanned your passport on their computer, so they have some data on their system about your travel. So the best way forward for you is to tell the truth if you are asked. Trying to hide something will complicate matters for you. The USCIS always is lenient on people with sich family members back...take it easy

Faysal, thank you for your respond. but i don't remember they scanned my passport. the did stamp on it. I heared people saying that going back your home country is it is not a good idea. but I didn't have a choice. I never regreated I went and saw my father. I am just tired of this immigration case and law.

They have a record of everyone that flew out of the country, I find it sad that you were given asylum in the USA, but were not afraid to fly home, if your government was so much of a problem for you, then why did you have no problems going to them to renew your passport. Now, your asking if it is ok to lie to get your citizenship. I'm wondering, does America really need people like you?

dafortycal,

you really do live in ur own perfect little world don't u? didn't u read this person's story. of course he fears persecution from his home country, but the love that he has for his father goes far beyond that fear. but then again, from ur post i'm guessing that ur not capable of love. this person mentioned that he hasn't seen his father for 12 years. what do u think that means? it means that he had stayed true with his asylum status and respected and followed all the trials and tribulations followed by it. he was brave enough to forget about himself and his fear and go and see his father before he passed away. there is nothing wrong with that and i am so glad that he did it and he got the chance to see his father passed away. i am just sad that he could not make it to his funeral. we all love our country, family and friends, it is the governments that make our lives living hell. stop being so judgmental and acting like u r a perfect person and understand the pain and suffering that others go through. i think what america doesn't need is someone like u who has such hatred. think about the things u say. have a little bit of sympathy and respect ur fellow asylees.

So, it is ok to lie, to get what you want... Is that what you are saying?
Sorry that isn't the kind of immigrant that American needs. America opens it heart to him, and now he wants to screw her. Seems to me that if he could have stayed there for 2.5 years without harm, he could have remained there.
