hello guys, im living in the States but i need to travel back to my country due to family problem. But my green card is going to expire in 3 months and i need to go now. I heard some source says that they would not you board the plane if your green card is less than 6 months prior to the expiration date, is that true?. Is it okay to travel now? please reply asap. thank you

Although I'm not sure what the correct answer is to your question, if you have you 10y GC, it is only the card that expires, not your PR status. If you're only 3 months out, you should probably be applying to renew your card anyway.

It seems unlikely to me that they would not let you board if your GC is still valid (again, not sure if they would). Have you applied to renew your GC yet? If you are on a 2y-conditional, have you filed I751? Your status will automatically be extended for a year when you file I751 (bring the expired GC and the NoA you received from USCIS).

thanks, my green card is permanent residence card. does anybody know any source that talks about this issue? thank you

hi there, that,s not true,as long as is not expired you are all set.you can get into the u.s even if u have 1 day left on ur green card.as long as u can get to the u.s before it expires. there,s no law or airline policy that,ll prevent u from boarding.
