Hi guys,

I have questions regarding Affidavits required for I-751.

Can they be from family members? What about family members out of the US? I would think it has to be those in the US, as they may be required to testify before an immigration officer?

Is a signature required on affidavits by those who wrote them?

Thanks guys!

Affidavits are not required for I-751.
If you have enough other evidence to support you relationship, don't even bother with affidavits, they are more hassle than they are worth.

On the list of importance of pieces of evidence, affidavits are a distant last.

If you still want to do affidavits, family is fine (but limit to people actually living in the US), but also include friends.

If you send affidavits, yes, they need to be signed by the person giving it, and notarizing is not a bad idea either.

Affidavits can help for I-751, it's on the required list too, but not a must if you have enough other evidence.

For any such things, the signature is needed, but not need to be notorized.

Yes, the affidavits can be from family members and friends who live in USA.

Good luck!

Don't get me wrong, I agree that they can sure help in certain cases, but if you have plenty of other evidence (like a child, for example ;)), they carry so little weight they're hardly worth the effort, that's all.
