Hi Guys, my interview is coming up at Nov 6 at Garden city, NY, although we'm married in March, but right now we don't have any 401K, life insurance, and any of those fiscal evidence, and right now my husband can't have bank account under his name because some filings against him. how can I make up for that? How can I make my case strong?
Thanks a million!

No big deal

No need to worry. Congrats on your interview call. It would have been nice and ideal if you guys had been married for few yrs and had kids together but this few months of marriage is not an issue at all. You will get a 2 year conditional GC, that's the only downside to it.
As far as joint assets together. Make sure you have his name added to the property papers if you two own a house or have both your and your husband's name on the leasing paperwork. If you have car insurance, add his name to it. You could also add his name to one of your utility bills and credit card accounts. He will be an authorized secondary user. This should serve the purpose. Also, if you 2 took a plane trip together, print a copy of that itinerary showing that you took that trip together. Pictures would be like icing on the cake.

Thanks for all the helpful points At Bro!
Feel better, we do have some lot of pictures from our trips, and some receipts, hope that would help.

Yes, collect as much evidence as you could from now until your interview day. Don't worry for what you don't have but definitely spend sometime to build your case to prove the officer that this is a real marriage. Just put yourself in the officer's shoes for sometime and come up with questions. This way, you will be well prepared.
Send a test e-mail (atlantabrother@hotmail.com) asking me to e-mail you some questions that officer could ask you guys during the interview. It's a guide that would prepare you and make you ready for your upcoming GC interview next month.

rancia,
dont worry too much abt getting evidence that you don't have. its all about being confident next to your spouse , i know its not telling but that is my experience try to feel comfortable around your spouse. Prepare yourself mentally that your comfortable and confident, its all about how strong you appear then anything.

beemer8,

I don't agree with you all the way here. My wife & I were recently interviewed.....not once but twice. First interview took place last month on Sep 22nd. The officer asked for my childrens BC, my job offer letter mentioning salary & duration of the project, most recent copy of tax return, joint assets such as most recent bank statements and if we ever traveled together he wanted to see the airline itinerary showing both our names and car insurance cards. He kept everything and still did not make a decision. Keep in mind I had my attorney and we also took both our kids to the interview. He said that the decision will be sent in 2 weeks max.
Yesterday exactly after a month we went to the DO to check the status on our pending case via infopass apptt.
The officer who was looking at our case at the window asked us to go upstairs on the 3rd floor and the officer will meet us there. The officer came out and took us into his office and started the interview all over again. He said that it was good that we came to check the status and this gives him the opportunity to interview us and asked us few more questions. He repeated those same questions again just to make sure were consistent with our answers and not saying anything different. He asked for a copy of my natz certificate to keep it in his records along with the most recent pay stub. I am glad I had everything in my briefcase. He was convinced & finally approved my wife's case and congratulated us. In short it's always good to be prepared. Why give the officer an excuse that you don't have this & you don't have that. The officer could very easily have second thoughts & doubts at that point and could ask to fax / mail the information. Who wants that. The last thing we all want is the officer not being able to make the decision that very same day, so besides by just being smart and too confident, please take all the paperwork with you, I don't care even if its extra.

Yes, i agree that you should take all the paper work , documentation if available. In his/her situation she does not have all the paper work the notice asked for, hence my advice that he/she should atleast be confident, comfortable in front of the officer. I wanted her/him to know that , its an important weapon in your arsenal when you don't have enough proof. But, i totally agree to your thoughts their. Yours is a unique case, i have not read this before from anyone else, that you were interviewed twice and the second time just because you happen to be their. This makes me wonder can we ever put our guard down and relax?:(
