regarding H1 application for 2009

hi i have a query regarding my H1 application...........rite now m doin my masters in mechanical ennggg.i hav evn done my bachelors in mechanical...........am gonna go on my opt in december and planning to file my H1 in april 2009.............i am planning to start working in a computer company.............but the company is not ready to file my H1.............and i even inquired with certain consultancies but they say that this year they wont b able to file our H1 this year because of some problem at USCIS .they say we wont b filing H1 for peopl of mechanical background so this means that this year evry mechanical engg stands no chance of gettin a H1?please help me and let me knw wat can i do?
