HI there!
I'm here! So October has come...I guess I should start expecting that second mail. Is there a way to know when it might get here?

Hi Tesh,

Good to hear from you,

It seems that your CN is already current. Is it? Please include a signature line. When is your Interview?

Hello Tesh,

I attached an excel sheet (that I found from this forum) that shows previous cut off numbers. That will give you an idea as to when you CN becomes current.

Hi there!

I am one of DV2009 winners from Ethiopia. my case number is 14xxx. I am residing in South Africa and I am expecting an interview in Joberg. Can you please comment on this family name thing? I am in possession of the old pasport where my name father's name and grandfather's name are shown unlike the new pasport where the grand father's name is clearly given as surname. I am using my father's name as surename. On date of birth only the year is given on the pasport. Would this bring any problem during the interview?

Hi Jacob,

With regards to the name, I think what is important is that the name you filled in while applying for the DV should match with that of all your documents including your passport. You can provide with explanation of our naming system we have to explain why your first name is used in the passport in stead of your surname.

I don't think the DOB will create any problem, as there are other documents like your birth certificate to check the DOB you filled while you apply with the one written in your documents.
