Goofup while printing- re-registration required ?

Hello all....an OCI newbie here. Just getting started with this and have come to the realization that a potentially short and simple process has been turned into a very convoluted one. I do have a question for those that have already submitted their application. This may or may not be an issue but here goes:

I am filing for two people (spouse and I) and completed and submitted the form online and it asked me if I wanted to print- I clicked Ok and just then realized I had forgotten to change number of copies from 1 to 2 as per suggestions in the OCI Checklist (sticky post) before I clicked Ok.

What I see before me is the Part A for both of us with unique registration numbers and one common Part B. Normally, I would just repeat the process and this time get 2 copies for each doc but this unique registration number is throwing me off.

Can I:

a) Just make copies of Part A for each of us or does each Part A have a unique number (resulting in 4 numbers- 2 each for both of us) ?

b) Can I access my profile and change some info and re-print ?

c) Repeat the registration process- will this cause complications with the previous registration numbers ?

Appreciate your thoughts.

If it's just the # of copies you are concerned about, make photocopies of both part As and part B to get your second set (what you already have will comprise the first set). If you want to change any info in what is already printed, then completely discard what you have and start anew. There will be no issues with previously generated #s - your applications will go with the newly generated #s. Hope this helps.

Cool! Yes, that's exactly what I needed. I guess I can just make another set since the information entered in the form is accurate.

You can save the generated information as HTML or PDF form correct?
Then re-print as many times as you want?

Is Part-B something we can "type" into (fillable PDF or Word format?) - or do we need to write up Part-B with pen (short of using an old fashioned typewriter!)

Based on the info provided in the OCI checklist sticky post- Part A is fillable online (not sure about the saving into HTML/PDF doc) and Part B is to be completed by hand (short of using an old fashioned typewriter :D)

I didn't try it, but it should be possible to print to PDF. For part B, I just hand-wrote everything (clearly and legibly :)) and encountered no problems with application processing.

akgarg,

Did you save the Part-A that got generated online with unique ID etc. on your local computer for future reference? Can that be done?

No, I just printed one copy (1st set), made 2 photocopies - one to send as 2nd set, and the other to save for my records. I can always scan it to make a soft-copy.

If you go to the same form where you input your information, at the bottom of the form is a button where it reads "RE-PRINT form" next to save, cancel etc. Click on that, input your reference # (hoping you have printed a copy or saved this reference # somewhere) and the date of birth of either of the applicant. When you input this, you will geta copy of the form. Select print to print part a and part b again. I have used it when my printer gave up and works great.

Thanks - this is great! I just tried it and it works. Has the 'Reprint Form' button always been there, or is it a recent enhancement? May be I didn't pay close attention at the time, but I don't remember seeing it when we filled in our applications online in December 2007.

It's been there for the past 2 months. I am not sure if it was there before since I did not have a need for it :-). At least I am glad they have it otherwise it's difficult when you have to deal with bureaucracy and there is no instruction when your printer gives up or paper jam or anything of that sort
