When to apply after travelling overseas

5 Years Rule: Jan 2009
Qualify to apply: Oct 2008 (90 days prior)

I was originally able to apply this Oct 08 for naturalization. 90 days before my 5 years GC. But I have to travel back home to celebrate my sibling's baby shower and probably will stay from Dec 08 until Jan 09. So when I come back to US, can I apply immediately or do I have to wait for 90 days again before I can apply?? I am coming back to my same residence address.

Unexpected event but I am happy for my sibling. :)

If you want to apply in Oct 2008 and travel outside usa in dec, you should be aware of receiving FP notice in one-two months or probably in weeks. Perhaps have someone check your mailbox and postpone the fingerprint scheduling if you can't make it to appear for fingerprint.

If you want to apply in Jan 2009, that would be great.

No, I mean I will not apply in Oct 08. I will apply after I come back from my travel. But I am not sure whether I need to establish another 90 days in my district again or not because I was out for 1 month.

So am I eligiible to apply in Jan 09 or April 09??

You do not have to establish the 90 day residence in the district again. Your residence will not change - you are merely going on vacation. You could also apply in Oct. - I don't see why you wouldn't - unless you are afraid to miss the fingerprint notice.
