Hi all,

I have my interview passed in Feb2008, but I have not receive my 2yr GC yet due to they said that they sent out to me, but I have never receive it. After that, I move out to another apt in April and I refile the replacement GC again, and I am still waiting for the next step from immigration. My questions here is when does the 2yr GC start to Count. Does it start to count on the day you passed your interview( I didn't have stamp on my passport right after passing the interview) or when you receive your GC on the mail? Like my situation, Can I file for the 10yr GC on fed 2010(I passed interview in Feb 08) or I have to wait to receive my GC first, and count from the new date on the GC? Thank you for all your help.
Also, I have another question, I want to move to another apt? I have already moved once since I passed my interview. but I get a job offer from another city, the traffic is very bad? If I move to another city, does this will affect me to fill my 10 yr Gc later?

It is 2 years from the date you officially became a LPR. That date should be on your Conditional Green Card - so when you get your card, it should have the date you became a LPR and that is the start of the clock.

If you were approved during your interview and they said they sent it out, then I would suspect that the date will be sometime in Feb 08. But it will be the date that they officially approved your AOS from whatever you were to LPR.

Well, they said that they sent it out to me, but I checked my status online, it only shows welcome notice sent out. Also, Is it going to be okay if I move out to another apt. I have been so stress with this stupid thing. If I move out, this will be my second time to move, and I have to update my new address via immigration. does this will affect me to file my 10 gc ? thank you

Moving does not affect anything just if you are waiting something from them...like now. I would not move until you received it since there is no way that your change of address take effect so quickly. But since you keep moving...for sure something can get lost.

Since you never received your physical conditional card...do an INFOPASS and explain that you never received your actual green card and give your new address and if you have copy of your change of address, take them with you. Even you don't have to worry in about another 2 years...still you need your conditional GC as part of the documents for the I-751.

The approval date should be reflected on the "since: xx feb 2008" in your card and it, but not all the time is like that. So to be sure what is your exact date of approval, you will have to wait to see your actual card...that you hasn't received.

Why you file for a replacement card?

I file to replace alien registration card because I have never receive it. I should have not done it or there is another better way to receive my GC? By the way, What is an INFOPASS? How can I do that? I mean which step I need to take first? can u give me more detail ?
