Job in the US instead of Affidavit of support

Hi guys:
I cant seem to find a straight answer for this question in the forum, if i have missed it sorry in advance,

I am a 2008 winner currently in the US in F-1 status on OPT status. my income is above the poverty lines and I have one dependent- my wife who is in F-1 status, attending school ( her educational costs are covered by scholarships)

my question is- Is it too risky for CP if I decide to go without an affidavit of support from a US citizen or LPR? I might be able to get a plain letter from one of the LPRs but nothing more.

If I use my own job for support- What documents would I need to present to the counselor?

Has anyone or does anyone know of anyone that has done this in the past successfully,

Best Regards
Subash

Whether your funds are sufficient is not dependent on whether you do CP or AOS (actually, with AOS you need more money because the process itself is more expensive). There is no need for an affidavit of support if you have enough money or a job offer. Since you already do have a job, I'm pretty sure you don't have anything to worry about. (Just in case: take your contract where it say how much you earn and information about the scholarships of your wife with you).

Minor detail

1 minor detail; CP gets more expensive since he has to fly back home; flight tickets are not cheap. But worth it to get the visa faster, if you are not stuck in "name check".
