Hi guys,

quick question, I just noticed that my mothers name in my birth certificate has her first name, middle name, grandfather name but in the forms I sent to the KCC I put my mothers name as first name, last name.

would that cause an issue? and if it would what should I do?

thanks

You can do nothing at this time, explain that issue in the embassy.

Try to get another copy of your birth certificate with corrected name- make sure that must be same as you noted in DV application and in your passport.

I cant get another birth certificate because I was born outside australia, I was thinking of taking my mum's passport with me to prove her name
has anyone got any ideas what else to take with me to prove her name?

why don't you ask that city to re issue another one or do affidavit with that one!

there is no time for me to do that,

cant I just explain that the naming system is different in other countries and show them my mum's passport?

Hi Tazmania,

your advise was the the best, I just explained to them that the birth certificate has my mums name different due to the different naming system o/s and they were cool with that
