Urgent Question - Please help (Staying outside while AOS pending)

I am a silent reader of this forum.

I need some urgent advise from Gurus

My AOS is applied on July 2007 and in pending status like lot of people.

Due to some very urgent and unavoidable reason, my wife need to visit India and need to stay there for 5 to 6 Months. We can’t avoid it.

She already her AP approved and valid till Oct 1st, 2008.

Our H1/H4 is valid till Aug 16th 2008 and we are applying extension of stay before leaving. My I140 is still pending.

Considering the situation, my questions is that
1. Whether staying outside US while AOS is in pending status for a long time (6 Months) could negatively impact AOS processing?
2. When she will return to USA, is it create any problem at POE
3. If by chance, we got our GC in between (then I will be one of the luckiest guy), I believe having AP will not create any problem – is that a true statement
4. Any other issue, I may oversee

BTW, I am the primary applicant and she is the beneficiary

I will appreciate your comments / advise on this.

She can return any time before the valid to date on her AP. My son spent several months in India to pursue his studies during AOS stage while having a valid AP

No problem at POE.

She can return on AP after GC approval. I was out of the country when my GC was approved and returned on AP after 2 weeks of GC approval and was paroled into USA.
