Nobody can give you a definite yes or no answer on this as it depends on the location, time of day, how busy they are and the mood of the security guard at the door who checks you in. In my case, I went the day I received the FP notice, which was approximately 3 weeks prior to my scheduled FP date. The reason I went early was that I knew I had a business trip on my scheduled date and would be out of town. They were very accomodating to me, and the whole thing took about 15 minutes. I think it helps, if you want to do this, if you go on Wednesday or Saturday afternoons as that is the time they seem to re-schedule people who cannot make their initial appointments.
In your case, it is only a one hour difference, so I suggest you both go at 8am on the 15th and, in the worst case, you simply wait 60 additional minutes. It should not be a problem at all, but you simply never can tell when dealing with the USCIS.
