Hello,

I have my second interview in a few days. I have not received any temporary green card but I was able to get a work permit and so I was not too worried about it. I probably did not receive the temporary green card just because of the age difference between me and my wife. There is about 20 some years of difference. Although it sounds pretty flaky but beleive me, I am in the best relationship of my life. Anyways, my second interview is scheduled for 1:00 Am early in the morning and I was wondering if anyone had similar experiences or know some one who had similar experiences. If by any chance you went through the same thing can you please share your experience and thoughts. I called the INS and they confirmed the time but still it sounds so unique.

Thanks....

They confirmed the time? that's is after midnight? wonder who in USCIS work that time...did you call customer service...wonder if they only were reading...not "wondering" that something is awkward. I will do an INFOPASS and speak directly with somebody there and ask if that's true. Still sounds a typo error for me.

Now are you talking about the interview for I-485? Why you say that you haven't received any temporary green card but a work permit...if you are on AOS you only will received a work permit...you received a green card until you are approved. If you are talking about I-751 then you surely should have a conditional green card first anyway...so I am a little confuse about what "temporary" green card you are referring to.

Re:

Well I am not sure. I thought after you file for AOS, then they give you a 2 year temporary green card and then after 2 years we need to file for removal of conditions. I did not receive the temporary green card and I got a letter couple of eeks ago to come for a second interview. Ironically it is about the same time 2 years ago that I had my initial interview. I did not have any kind of I-751 stamped on my passport.

I made an Infopass for tomorrow and I will confirm my time.

Please share your knowledge.

Thanks

You mention that you had a first interview 2 years ago. What was the result of that interview?

oh now I understand...well yes after you file for AOS if you are approved then you received a green card, the conditional or not depend on how long you have been married to your US citizen spouse.

But same as asPapi, what was the outcome at your first interview?

Re:

I do not know the outcome. They asked me for additional evidence and I provided them. Up until this point they were very quiet but now they are calling me for an interview. Because of our age difference, I am sure they think it is marriage fraud but we have eevry thing to prove that our marriage is genuine. Well I will wait and see how it turns out. I will keep you posted. If you know any similar experiences please share.

Your story is sketchy at best.

1 AM?

Age difference?

Ignoring the result of first interview? hmmm.... and your intentional to steer the story to conditional>no card>new interview hmmm.... it does not add up!

I guess maybe USCIS wants to see if the spouse who is 20 yrs older can get up that early....:) I think the 1am appt is incorrect, the correct time is 1pm.

Re:

Hello,

The interview was at 1:00 PM and not 1:00 AM. The reason I was concerned was because when I called the 1-800 number at 3 different times, I got 3 different answers. The first one told me that the interview was indeed at 1:00 Am and the second one kept telling, use common sense and when I told him what the previous officer told he just repeated the same thing again. The third one told even though it is highly unlikely that the interview is at 1:00 Am he suggested that we better show up.

So I decided to show up at 1:00 AM and as I thought the office was closed. I showed up at 1:00 Pm too and then we were called in for an interview and it took her just 2-3 minutes to approve us. All she wanted was our 2007 taxes and once we gave her she gave me a fingerprinting appointment and told us that as soon as my fingerprints get cleared she will approve it.

I am just waiting for the email.

Thanks for all your posts.
