How to fire an Ignorant lawyer

Hi all:
I had chosen a lawyer thinking that it will save my time in filing for NIW and EB1-EA. We filed NIW concurrently in JULY 07. I got EAD so far from this case.
Regarding EB1-EA the attorney prepared cover letter for OR in JULY. I said I dont want to rush so ask them prepare good cover letter. Then lawyer or say paralegal prepared the letter claiming paid memberships and citations (as material writtent about author) criteria. I told them paid memberships wont count as a criteria as also citations of others as an evidence for material written about author. Instead I suggested them to claim reviewer of others work (I have done about 10 referee papers for 5 journals). For this the lawyer says I am giving too much trouble and the suggested changes wont help my case. And if I insist on changes he wont represent my case.
I decided to fire this lawyer. However I already filed NIW concurrently through him. How can I change such that all future correspondence w.r.t NIW from USCIS will be directed to me rather than the attorney.
Any suggestions from someone with similar experience greatly appreciated. Happy Holidays!!!

Just talk to Rajiv Khanna and get him on board to take over the case. It is unfortunate that you had to go to another lawyer when you are a member of a good lawyer's forum. You should always hire a lawyer who has good experiences with your kind of cases.

You can ask the attorney to give you a letter stating that he is withdrawing from the case. This is probably the best route. You can also fax to the USCIS (call the customer service and they should be able to guide you).

The more expensive option is to get another attorney. Given that the NIW petition is already filed, you probably don't need a new attorney unless you anticipate an RFE. In fact, you can engage a new attorney if you get an RFE.
