Response from Senator

I contacted the Senator's office recently asking him to check the status of my case with USCIS Texas Service Center and I got a response from his office stating that they had contacted USCIS and included a copy of their response which stated "The cases are currently enroute to an officer for review. Your constituent should be receiving notification of the officer's decision within 14-30 days."

Has anyone else received a similar response? I hope what they've stated is true and I get my green card within the next month :)

Hi Deena,

Can you send me the format of the letter you used to contact the Senator?

Thanks.

Hi deena,

I replied to your post in the TSC I-485 forum.

Hope things work out for us soon....keeping our fingers crossed.

Could you please PM me the format too. Thanks

Quite a few people have been asking me for the format so I thought I'd just post it here for anyone who might want to use it.

Dear Senator:

My name is xxxx and my spouse's name is xxxx. I am writing to request your assistance in our Permanent Residency (I-485) application with the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

I filed an "Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker" (I-140) in Month/Year, which was approved in Month/Year and I filed "Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status" (I-485) for my spouse and me in Month/Year.

I recently spoke with an Immigration Officer of USCIS at the Texas Service Center and was told that our applications are still pending inspite of them being outside the processing time. The USCIS Texas Service Center Processing Dates posted on November 14, 2007 states that the processing time for I-485 (Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status) for Employment-based adjustment applications is 6 Months whereas our case has been pending for the past 8 months.

Please note that my my case has been filed under the EB1-EA (Extraordinary Ability) category for which the Priority Dates are current, so there is no reason why the case should be delayed.

Senator, could you please:

1. Look into our cases at USCIS Texas Service Center, and have the immigration officers confirm the status of our Name Checks.
2. Urge the immigration officer at USCIS Texas Service Center to expedite adjudicating our cases.

Below is our case information:

Name:
SSN#:
DOB:
I-485 Receipt #:
Alien #:

Spouse's Name:
SSN#:
DOB:
I-485 Receipt #:
Alien #:

Thank you very much. We look forward to your help. Please contact me at xxx or email me at xxx if you have any questions.

Hello Deena,
Thanks for the draft.
Did you email this or go in person to give this letter.
Did you also attach your photocopies of receipt notices?
If you went in person, whom did you give the letter and what were your talking points.

Go to the above link and choose your state to get a list of senators and on their website you will find info on how to contact them. I faxed only a letter with my case details to the senator.

I just don't understand why there's no EB11 approvals this month at all (based on this forum and trackitt). It is already 17th. There are some EB12 and EB13 approvals. Do those categories get priority over EB11?

Hi eb1a-query, I just noticed a LUD on my spouse's and my I-485 but the status remains the same..what about you?

This is puzzling too. I saw one EB1 approval from China recently. Why are so less EB1 getting approved?

My wife and I had LUDs (with no status change) on our 485 on 12/10 and 12/11 but nothing after that. Seems like someone took our files, dusted off the dust and kept it back :)

Looks like none likes to dust off our files....

last response that we had was our files are with an officer...who knows what that really means!!

I was told that my file is waiting to be assigned to an IO.
Did you try the Senator letter yet?

No we didn't try the senator as we had contacted our congressman already and his office called us last week saying that the NC and FP are all cleared. I do not know whether the senetor's office can expedite the processing or not.
I guess, just have to wait and see...
