Finally, our 3.5 year saga is over... Some of the events:
Applied in June 2004 for I-140, NIW, approved January 2005.
Applied I-485 in February 2005, approved December 12, 2007.
Meanwhile, we had a couple of Fingerprints and inquiries. One of the inquiry was initiated by the congressman in September 2006 and cam back with the incomplete NC. Suddenly, on November 27th they sent us a RFE with the request of the tuberculousis skin test. They received the resonse to RFE on December 6th, 2007 and LUDed us 12/7, 12/8 and finally ordered the card on 12/10.
We are very happy, however, USCIS lost all our trust and we still do not beleive them before we see the cards. So, the green bottle of champaign is still sitting in the fridge waiting for the green card. Once we get the cards, we will celebrate. Although, the happiest moment of my life already happened this year: birth of my son. So, green card will make life easier, not happier.
Good luck to everyone ! Hope all of us will be done with the process and will be free and forget about it all... Does anyone know why the permanent resedency card is called green card ? Was it green before, originally ? Green with envy, green with hatred to INS, green green green...
