Hi all,

My wife and I got married in the US, we are both foreign, then 1 month after we married we both applied for asylum, mine was denied and I am waiting for my court date, my wife has received Recommended for approval and waiting for final approval to file for me.

My question is: Will they call us for an interview?I ask because I have been having marriage problems and I will probably move to another place. Do they check where everyone is living? can they have this information cheking Social Security # and see that my wife lives in her house and I am renting?

Thank you all for you help.

Why you both filed separate cases??? anyways...
Did your wife put YOU in her asylum application as a derivative?? If yes, then you already have recommended approval too.

If not, then she will have to file for a relative asylum petition (I-730) for you ONCE her asylum is finaly granted. In most cases, it will require an interview of you before approval. I dont think she will be call, but she will have to sign the paperwork.

No. USCIS do not verify where you live. HOWEVER, lying or hiding information to immigration IS NOT A GOOD IDEA, if they want they can find where you live.

It has been a while since I went through the I-730 process, but when my mother filed the I-730 on my behalf, the approval simply came in the mail (I was already here as a F-1 student) and no interview was required. Is one needed now?
