Working Part Time with employer sponsoring GC

After 180 days of I-485 I want to change my job to new company with a totally new job description. My sponsoring empoyer has no problems to that as I will be helping out on a part time / need basis and will get paid for it as well (W-2/paystubs).

Is there any complication that can arise by such an arrangement ? Can I just go ahead and join the new job ?
 
Working part time with the sponsoring employer may be fine as long as you show an intent of working full time as soon as you get the green card. You can show this by providing a continuing future employment offer letter, and a current part time employment letter. It is also essential that you submit your own letter describing a very good reason as to why you need to work part time (e.g. family reason etc.).
