Hi,

There was no email notification, but I checked the
status online and the website showed an LUD today.....
(last LUD was in June 2007 which I think was because
of Service Response ).
First it showed "Card production ordered" and then
after some time it changed to "Welcome Notice mailed
to the new permanent resident". So Iguess my case
has been finally approved. My 485 RD was August 31st 2006.
PD has always been current (EB2 row) .....but I got stuck in
the dreaded namecheck. I found this out in June 2007 through
congressional inquiry and then after writing to everybody (including
senators, ombudsman , first lady , vice president, president,
etc .....by God's grace, the namecheck got cleared on October 18th 2007.
Another congressional inquriy to INS and then today the status
changed.

good luck to those who are waiting ....hope you all get approval soon !

Congratulations on being a free person. If I may ask- how do you know if your name is stuck in the namecheck and how did you get the numbers to call?

Hi madjad,

You can find out by calling TSC/NSC using the POJ method
or through an infopass appointment. However the information
may or may not be reliable depending on your luck.

I found out
through SR that 485 is stuck because of background checks....but
I didn't know what it really meant.

Then I asked my local congressman for help to find the status of the
485 and he informed me that the 485 is stuck because of FBI namecheck.
Thats when I mailed everyone asking for help to get the FBI to clear
the namecheck , so that the processing on 485 is not blocked.

In my opinion , I think congressman gives the most reliable information
about the case.

And if you're stuck in namecheck, I think the office of first lady has good
chance of being able to get it cleared ....atleast within 6 months. It
doesn't happen everytime, but I think its worth a shot.
