485 Pending - FP notice for EAD

Last week I applied for EAD renewal and yesterday I received appointment notice for Biometrics...

The Appointment letter says Case Type as 'I765'...Last FP was done in May 2007.

I am not sure why they sent the FP notice again...Is it because I E-Filed EAD renewal? Has anybody else experienced this? Am just tired of going for FP...

I don't know why FPs cannot be stored in a system and applicant visits and associated expenses avoided, well maybe alien FPs changes as they age ;-)

My wife also applied for her second EAD online and she too had to go for fingerprinting for EAD.

EAD Receipts recvd by mail..

yes zinchak..

i have received the receipts for EAD application by mail...my 485 case was transferred from VSC to TSC in march 2007. however, the EAD is being processed at VSC...is it ok?

I have not received my EAD. Filed EAD online before 2 months and the current EAD is expiring in first week of January 2008. Only a month to go...

Am worried about the EAD... Any suggestions what I can do to expedite?

EADs will be still processed by VSC if you applied there at first. I-485 are centralized to Texas and Nebraska SCs but not the EADs and APs.

Did you submit your FPs for ONLINE filed EAD? if yes, call and check the status or visit a local USCIS and explain the situation. Its your bad luck that the July VB filers cases are being processed and your case is stuck.

As a matter of fact it is okay to file EAD renewal 6 months in advance and also note that the new EAD start date will be the next day of the current EAD expiry unlike before 2005 where they would start the validity of the new EAD right on the approval day.
 
I have been renewing my EAD's for the last 3 years online. Each time you will receive a biometric notice. They will take your picture (for EAD) and your index finger print. Don't worry - this is a normal process - take it from a veteran :-)

Call the 1-800 number and take a finger print appointment over the phone. They will issue you one over the phone for EAD's. I did the same in 2005.

Ummm, not possibly true in all instances. Until now, they (USCIS) has been kind enough to grant me new EAD's starting from the next day of my current expiration date - until this time. Both me and my wife's EAD's were expiring in November'07. I submitted renewal applications in June (wanted to save some booty since they were jacking up the fees from July). Cards approved in July - My case was good - starting from November'07, but they messed up my wife's - started from July'07. Lost 4 months :-(
 
Well I guess I will wait for another few weeks...The processing dates say it takes like 11 weeks to process the case..Hopefully I will get the EAD card on time.

You sure about this?
The last time I heard ; one has to renew EAD/AP at the center where I-485 is pending. My 485 was transferred from VSC to TSC in Mar07 and is pending there and my AP was processed/approved by TSC.

If you E-file then it will ask where did you file your I-485. Based on that it will assign your EAD case to that service center. There is no way to mention that your case is now transferred to TSC from VSC.
 
I guess E-file is good except that you have to visit the ASC for biometrics...

My 485 was transferred from VSC to TSC on 15 March this year. Checked with the lawyer at the time I was renewing my EAD in June - it should be at the service center where your 485 currently is, i.e., TSC. As I mentioned earlier, I did e-file and they provided me with an SRC number (which is from TSC) rather than the normal EAC (from VSC). So, go ahead and submit to texas if your case is there.
