Changing Job after getting GC-EB11 (urgent help needed)

Dear all:

Please help me on this urgent issue:

I got my GC through EB11 - self pertitioned (did have a intent to stay with current employer letter in the application package). My GC was approved on 6/22/07. If I change my job now (which is less than 6 months after approval), could it become a problem?

It may become a problem when you apply for citizenship. Anyone know if it becomes an issue when the 10-year renewal of the card comes around?

You are self-sponsored so that puts you in better shape than the typical EB3 or EB2 company-sponsored employee. And 4 months isn't so bad (when did you file the I-485? ... the longer ago, the better).

But this topic has been discussed 1000 times and the bottom line is that there is no hard and fast answer, and there won't be until a court case or new legislation clarifies it. You just have to look at the reward (the new job) and decide if it is worth the risk.

It shouldn't be an issue for renewal. The renewal form doesn't even ask for your employment history, and there isn't nearly as much scrutiny as with citizenship.

Thanks everyone. I applied my I485 on 12/01/2006 and I might start my new job at the end of November. Thank you for all your informative input.
