Trvelling to Costa Rica

what country are u from?

Hi Guys:
Has anybody travel to Costa Rica with RTD+GC? Was a visa required? Thank you..

Sometimes costa rica is very picky, just go in person and find out if you need a visa, because if u call or check on the internet you will find different answers:)

I suggest you get a visa. I travelled to Costa Rica in July 2007 and I had a tough time getting through the gate agents in Houston. They had to call the agents in Costa Rica who confirmed it was okay for me to travel without the visa. I even had printouts of emails from different correspondence I had with consular agents in US but this did not help. I made my flight with only 7 minuts to spare. I highly recommend getting a visa anyway

I have been twice in the last two months (just came back last weekend), flew in to Liberia. I only have RTD that expires at the end of May and had no problems. Costa Rica allows anyone with a document to enter the US to visit without a prior visa as of January 2008. When I went four years ago they sent me back home on the same plane I came in on! Just go to the Costa Rica consul website and you can print out the new policy in case anyone gives you a hard time (including airline gate agent who have never seen a RTD!).

By the way I am from a country that was designated a "State Sponsor of Terror" but Bush thinks our dictator is a good guy now, that is why I wasnt allowed in to Costa Rica the first time. Since my home country is now on the good guy list I am now allowed in with a RTD with no Visa, just the tourist visa they stamped in to my RTD when I showed up in CR.

Thankyou for sharing your experience going to CR. Now I know for sure I don't require a visa and won't have a hard time getting into the country. Best of luck...
