Today I finally got aprroval for my derrative. I know mine is a litle bit to late to celebrate, but without approval for both of us I didn't feel my long pain journey end yet.

I just got the card order then the welcome email from CRIS for my spouse 5 minutes ago and I can't believe it that after 5 years my pain and agony finally come to end. I can breath again and I can be me again, smile all happy and even jumping around screaming like crazy.

My case it self has been approved last month (please see my signature) but when I received my approval email I just dumbfounded and have no feeling whatsoever because I still worried about my spouse case.

I've been so depressed because of this GC journey and been in out of medication and these last couple of months I already prepare myself to go back. This site is the only hope and the only place that keep me going. Like many others in similar journey with me, I owed this site a lot.

I want to thank you all who willing to share their pain and to those who willing to spend their time answering any question that we had.

Although my journey end but my though and pray will always with you who still waiting for their GC. I hope those who still waiting and has been waiting for so long be able to get their GC soon.

Congrats on the end on a Good note.
All of us with derivative pending feel the pain.

What did you do to follow up on your spouse's case? Were you told it was assigned to officer at any time?

Looking at your signature, I am a bit confused.
So, your LC took around 5 years to complete?
That is awfult lot of time.
OR did you file a substitution and the original LC had a PD of 2002 ?

I have one thing I received Welcome Notice mailed e-mail on 9/6/07
but I never received any cards or approval notices till now

If u don't mine please help me out, its really helpful & appreciates

Hi Apu99, don't worry, I never received my card approval notice tru email either. The first email I received from CRIS is a welcome notice on 8/14/07 I didn't received my approval notice till 08/17/07 and then on the 8/20/07 I received my actual card from post office.

Usually they order the card first then send out the welcome notice then approval notice. that what happened on my spouse case, card order email then welcome notice so far no approval notice mail yet.

on my card it stated that issued date is the 8/14/07 it about the same time with my welcome notice date. so I believe the order that I stated above is correct.

So don't worry, you should received your card soon. If you didn't get the card more than 3 weeks after your welcome notice, my suggestion is to call the TSC customer service Immediately so they can open service request for you.

and Yes, It gruesome 4+ for my LC to be approved. therefor I now how bad the waiting is and that's why my heart is out for those who still waiting their LC approval or past the LC and yet still waiting for the GC to be current.

Waiting in limbo is never fun, your life is put on hold. Don't know what to do, should you start over again or keep on waiting.

I am in the similar situaltion as you were. My case was approved on 08/31 but there are no developments on my spouse's case yet.

Hoping for the best.

About my spouse case, Once I found out that my case is approved (got the welcome to PR email) I've check my online case status to make sure that I'm approved and then look at my spouse case still have the old LUD (the last one is after finger print) I know immediately that my spouse case is not approved. So I called the TSC CS phone number to make sure that I'm REALLY REALLY Approved. Talk to customer service to check my case and he said it has been approved then ask them to check my spouse case. He is the one that offer to open the SR for separation.

They said usually the primary and the derrative should approved at the same time if not it called separation something (I forget what they called I just remember there is word of separation only) and the Customer Service or the officer should open the service request for companion separation case.

you also can found out about that by called the number (800) 375 5283 then 1, 1(for case status) then you have to put your case number it will then tell your latest status then after that you can press 3 to continued then 4 ( if you file more than 1 case and you receive decision on one but not the other and you worry about companion separation please press 4) it will connect you to the CSR as well.

Hi Hello.Mohan,

My suggestion, call the customer service immediately to open service request and give it a wait about a month if nothing happen give them another call at least to see if the service request did generate by your first call. keep on following up your case.

you did not reply to my question.
it looks like you substituted an old 2002 labor in 2006 and you received the approval based on that.
is that correct?
also, do you belong to one of the countries which have been retrogressed?

Hi srikvln,

I did respond to your question, you have to scroll up a little bit more up and you will find my answer :)

anyway, I don't use any subtituted labor at all. I start my GC process back in february 2002, my lawyer use strick approach advertised the job 6 month in the row on news paper, our company website and internal office.

and it took me quite sometimes to finish all paperwork and for my company to select and interview the possible applicant before send everything to EDD.
EDD RD which became my priority date is november 12, 2002.

EDD approved my case on september 26, 2003 and send the paperwork to department of labor by march 2004 the backlog center was created and my case which is from california was fortunately :p sent to PBEC backlog center instead of Dallas DBEC backlog center (from march 2004 till today, there is not a single day past without me checkin to this site :p )

After waiting for almost 3 years (stuck in PBEC) and see most of my friends who processed after me get their LC (some because their lucky other because they have PERM) and get their greencard on November 2006 my LC finally get approved.

I'm from other country (not the retrogress one).
